He is in charge of the research and development innovation of advanced technology with the concept of "diversity, symbiosis, and benevolence", including cloud computing, edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and other technical fields. He also serves as a Co-initiator of CTO Club under China Computer Federation (CCF), Executive Committee Member of CCF Open Source Development Committee, member of Cloud Computing Expert Committee under China Electronics Society (CES), Vice Chairman of Zhongguancun Smart Alliance for Software Service Industry Quality Innovation, Director of the Development Advisory Board (DAB) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Michigan College. In 2017, He was awarded the title "Leader in Brand Building for Chinese Software and Information Services". In 2015 he won the Yun Ding Award's "China's Most Influential Person Award". Prior to joining VMware, he served as Vice President for Global Customer Business Group at iSoftStone, co-founder & CEO at a start-up company which was acquired by iSoftStone before going public on NASDAQ. He has also held senior management positions at Sun Microsystems Inc., IBM Corporation and Bellcore in both US and China. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Advanced Management from Rutgers University, a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Cooper Union College.
